Bridge of Prayer

01-05- Pray For Me.mp3Kirk Franklin

"Pray for your brothers and sisters.  Keep your eyes open.  Keep each other's spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out." Ephesians 6:18 MSG

The purpose of this page is to post prayers, declarations, elaborate on what prayer is, and the purpose of prayer.  However, it is not just about breaking down what prayer is, but also a page to submit prayer request.  Many of us are going through our own personal trials, tribulations, wilderness, Red Seas, or have some things we are believing God for.

Many of us have different interpretations as to what prayer is, so we've asked a few individuals to share what prayer means to them and scriptures for declarations, which you will find below.

Remember we are here for you, you are not alone, so if you are in need of prayer please submit your petition in the space provided and we will be interceding with you.

One of our partners N.L.T shared the following regarding what prayer means to them:

"Prayer is being in agreement and oneness with God"

Their prayer scripture: Psalm 91

J.B. said prayer to them is:

"Needing help and handing over what I have no control over to God.  Trusting, having respect, love, and to honor God with all the faith in my soul.

Isn't that what we all do?  Call on God for help on things we cannot control?

It also means praying for people, praying to be grateful."

One of our partners C.S. shared the following:

"Prayer is God's two way!  Cell phones ring... but you don't have to wait to talk to God... there's no ringtone, no dial tone, just straight bust through the line like YOOOOO GOD!

I have a go to scripture for declarations (Jeremiah 29:11) but not for prayer because to me prayer is personal.  I don't want to pray to God things that are already written.  I prefer when I pray, to pray exactly what is in my heart.  My prayers don't always align with what the prophets, apostles, etc. in the bible were hoping and praying for.

I declare Jeremiah 29:11, telling God I believe as you told Jeremiah... but my prosperity is different from Jeremiah's.  No matter how I fail, no matter what I do, no matter how or what I pray for, GOD'S PLANS ARE GOD'S PLANS!  He may not always give me what I want, but HIS PLANS ARE ALWAYS FOR ME TO PROSPER!!  So that's what I count on and look to.  Even when I don't feel so successful, even when I'm down,, I know it's for a purpose for me to win at the end!"

J.V. shared the following about prayer:

"Prayer is an intimate honest, raw, and confidential conversation with a higher power which is God the Father."

Go to scripture:  Psalm 23

Maggie said:

"To me prayer is my lifeline!  My line of communication with my Daddy.  Prayer to me is living, it's vulnerability!  Prayer is not something I do, it is somewhere I go!"

Go to scriptures:

"Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful & thankful" Colossians 4:2

"Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." 1st Thessalonians 5:16-18

R.V. shared that prayer is:

"To me prayer is an opportunity to stop and petition with The Trinity.  Sometimes I come to the Father with gratefulness and awe, other times my soul has no words for my request.  Usually in times of anguish I come to the Son for guidance, help, I come to the Spirit when I'm confused, and the Spirit intercedes.  Then there are times when my prayers sound like Peter like hell nah Lord, is this what we doing now?

I do not have a go to prayer scripture but Jeremiah 29:11 myself to death.  All I can say these days is-alright God, do whatever you want, you ain't listening to me anyways. LOL"

I.L. shared the following regarding prayer:

"Prayer has many different meanings in many different occasions but all meanings still lead towards your relationship with and faith in God.  If I pray for myself I'm asking for mercy and grace.  If I pray for guidance I'm experiencing faith.  Prayer for me is the bridge to God, it's how I can reach Him!"

B.G. shared her interpretation of prayer:

"Prayer is a direct line to Jesus and the Holy Spirit.  Why not the Father (God)?  Because Jesus is the one who intercedes on our behalf as one comes to the Father except by/through Him.  Prayer is intimacy with Him.  It's the place and moment where we are able to go before Him, rest at His feet and be totally vulnerable.  It's the moment that allows us to pour out our heart, judgement free.  the moment that allows us to make requests known to our Daddy and know that we are being heard for what it IS not what it is perceived to be.

It's a place where direction is given.  Where instructions are provided and where clarity is manifested.  It's the moment that God downloads His will to intermingle with our desires so that we are operating in such a way that His plans are confirmed and carried out.

Prayer is guidance, grace, mercy and endurance.  Prayer is a lifestyle.  Prayer is unity in Him!"

E.G. shared that:

"Prayer to me is Communication with God!"

Another one of our partners M.G.R shared:

"Prayer is to be still in His Presence as it opens the flow of ones heart.  It's feeling the touch of His arms embracing all of the spoken words- Comfort, Peace, Hope, and Love which allow you to enter into Holy Prayer.

For N.B. prayer is:

"My personal time to have a conversation with God.  It's a time of reflection, realization, thankfulness, awareness and a spiritual awakening so to speak.  Every time is different in its own unique way."

L.D shared the following about prayer:

"Prayer is my lifeline.  A way to communicate and express what I"m feeling to my Father.  It is a way to hear and receive from my Heavenly Father.  Prayer is everything.

Go to Prayer Scripture:  Proverbs 3:5-6, Proverbs 14:23, Philippians 4:13, and John 3:16

T.R shared that prayer to her is:

"Prayer to me is talking with God about life, having a father, best-friend, soulmate to experience my deepest darkest thoughts with knowing He will not judge, misguide, discourage, disown, hate, punish, or crucify me for my thoughts, actions, and/or feelings.  Even when I may loss faith and/or feel discouraged when I feel my prayers are not being answered.  He walks beside me through the easiest yet hardest of times."

J.Q. shared this about prayer:

"Prayer to me is my way to connect with God, not just a line to request things or miracles for my life, but a way to just "desahogarme" (vent) to Him.  I think that even though He knows everything, it is important for me to let Him know how I feel.  Also, it is a way to express my love, my admiration to Him, a way to say thank you for all the blessings!  Sometimes, and just sometimes, in my case it means to "relamarle y reprocharle" (claim and reproach) why my life is so messed up (even when I know it is my own fault)."
